Police make arrest in the case involving a teenager found fatally shot in Garland

The Garland police department has made an arrest in the case involving a teenager who was found murdered in the street Wednesday night.

18-year-old Cesar Rocha of Dallas has been taken into custody and charged with the murder of the 15-year-old boy now identified as Russell Deangelo Jefferson of Garland.

Garland Police say around 6 p.m. the 15-year-old boy was found shot in the 3900 block of Roanoke Drive, near Garland Road and I-635.

Paramedics got the unidentified teen to the hospital as soon as possible but it was too late to save him.

At this point in the investigation, Garland police continue to investigate what led to the shooting. This is still an active investigation.

No bond has been sent for Rocha at this time.
