The teenager suspected in a massive head-on crash that killed six in Johnson County has been arrested.
This morning 18-year-old Luke Resecker appeared before a magistrate after he turned himself in on six counts of intoxication manslaughter, two counts of intoxication assault, and two drug charges.
The fatal crash happened in December of last year on U.S. 67 between CR 1234 and CR 1120 in Johnson County.
An investigation by Texas State Troopers says a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Resecker was heading south on Highway 67, just south of Cleburne.
Troopers believe the truck crossed over into the northbound lane in a no-passing area and struck a van carrying 7 people head-on. Six people were killed and three others were injured as a result of the crash between the two vehicles.
DPS reports say investigators found a vape pen with cannabis oil in Resecker's truck after the crash. They have been waiting for lab tests before deciding on charges.
Resecker has already bonded out. He is on home confinement and has an ankle monitor as part of his bond conditions.
Six of the seven people in the van died including two children, a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old. A 36-year-old woman, a 60-year-old woman, and a 64-year-old man were also killed in the crash, according to NBC 5.
The van was driven by 28-year-old Rushil Barri of Irving who was also killed.
