An East Texas mayor is dealing with legal issues after he reportedly was caught up in a DPS prostitution sting.
According to reports, Athens Mayor James "Monte" Montgomery was arrested Thursday in Longview on charges including online solicitation of a minor.
Police told the Tyler Morning Telegraph Montgomery was released from the Gregg County Jail after posting $300,000 bond.
There's been no comment from the mayor, whose term runs into 2023.
