It's opening day for the Texas Rangers and new manager Bruce Bochy is putting the ball in the locker of new pitcher Jacob deGrom.
deGrom leads the team's refurbished starting rotation which includes other newcomers like Andrew Heaney and Nathan Eovaldi, who has the distinction of being one of just two MLB players ever to come out of Alvin, Texas.
The other baseball star from Alvin is a fellow by the name of Nolan Ryan.
Around the horn, the Rangers will start veteran infielders Nathaniel Lowe, Marcus Semian and Corey Seager alongside rookie third baseman Josh Jung out of Texas Tech.
Today's likely starters in the outfield are left-fielder Robbie Grossman, another newcomer, with speedster Bubba Thompson in center and rocket-armed Adolis Garcia in right.
Jonah Heim will be behind the plate.
Texas opens its season at home today, hosting the National League Champion Phillies with the first pitch at 3:05 p.m. You can listen to Texas Rangers baseball in DFW on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM).
