
Three new representatives will head to the U.S. House in January after winning races for vacated seats in North Texas. Democrat Julie Johnson will replace Colin Allred in Texas' 32nd District, Republican Brandon Gill will replace Michael Burgess in the 26th District, and Republican Craig Goldman will replace Kay Granger in the state's 12th District.
Granger (R-Fort Worth) in District 12 and Burgess (R-Lewisville) in District 26 are retiring. Allred (D-Dallas) challenged Ted Cruz in the U.S. Senate race.
District 32
State Rep. Julie Johnson (D-Farmers Branch) is the projected winner in Texas' 32nd Congressional District, according to The Associated Press. Johnson would replace Allred, who is challenging U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz.
Darrell Day was the Republican nominee and won a primary election runoff after David Blewitt garnered a plurality of the vote on Super Tuesday.

District 26
Republican Brandon Gill is the projected winner in Texas' 26th Congressional District, according to The Associated Press. Gill defeated Democratic nominee Ernest Lineberger III in the race.
Gill, who is the son-in-law of conservative commentator Dinesh D'Souza and earned the endorsement of Donald Trump in the Republican primary, will replace U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Lewisville). Burgess is retiring after serving 11 terms in Congress.

District 12
Republican state Rep. Craig Goldman of Fort Worth will be the first new representative in Texas' 12th Congressional District in nearly three decades. Goldman is the projected winner of the race to replace U.S. Rep. Kay Granger (R-Fort Worth), according to The Associated Press.
Granger has represented the district since 1997 and chairs the powerful House Appropriations Committee. She became the first Republican woman to go to the U.S. House from Texas and was also Fort Worth's first female mayor.
Goldman, who won a primary runoff in the spring, defeated Democratic nominee Trey Hunt. District 12 includes parts of Parker and Tarrant counties.
