In this coming election, Colin Allred is challenging Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate, but that has left Allred's seat in the U.S. House open. KRLD takes a look at the people who want to fill it.

Colin Allred served three terms in the U.S. House in District 32. He beat Republican Pete Sessions back in 2018, then Sessions rejoined Congress after moving to Waco. When Allred won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate, that left his seat in the House open.

Julie Johnson won the Democratic nomination for District 32. She says she'd work to stop an "extremist agenda that's pushing hate and divisiveness." She says she'd also work to protect the Affordable Care Act.

Republican Darrell Day says he's owned a small business for 25 years and has experience as a precinct chair, election judge and Arlington city councilman. He says he'd work to reduce inflation, saying higher prices for groceries, healthcare and gas are the result of lower domestic energy production.

Early voting runs through November 1st and election day is November 5th.
