The Police Chief in Fort Worth has fired three officers from the force for violations of departmental policy.
The department says the officers were involved in three separate incidents and were not connected.
Detective Bryan Lafaurie was terminated from the force for an incident in July. The department says he was off-duty when he forced his way into someone else's home with a gun and confronted some teenagers he suspected of stealing items from him. Lafurie was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of burglary of a habitation in that case.
Officer Derek Maly was fired for an incident in November. He was arrested while off-duty in Saginaw on a charge of domestic violence.
Officer Darrell Coker was fired for misusing the Fort Worth Police Department's computer system while on-duty. The department says he used the system to run searches on two individuals without a legitimate law enforcement reason to do so. Both of those events happened in 2021. He was indicted this summer on a charge of breach of computer security.
