Sadly, Thanksgiving was a day of tragedy on Dallas highways largely because of the rain coupled with drivers going too fast.

A Little Elm man was killed on the Dallas North Tollway near Mockingbird. Investigators determined Kamilu Asalu's car hydroplaned, struck a concrete barrier and smashed into an SUV that was disabled in a crash. Asalu was killed at the scene.

Another crash killed a driver whose car hydroplaned and crashed into a bridge support pillar on Loop 12 near I-30. That driver was also killed on impact.

A third person, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a big rig on Highway 75 near Forest Lane. That victim was also pronounced dead at the scene. Dallas police have not determined why the victim was walking on the freeway in the rain.
