Last week's arctic cold snap turned deadly in Tarrant County where the Medical Examiner now confirms three women died from hypothermia during sub-freezing temperatures on January 13th, 16th, and 21st. On all three of those days, the lows fell below freezing.

On the morning of the 13th when the low dropped to 19 degrees, a woman named Massah Kwadzo died from hypothermia at JPS Hospital in Fort Worth. Reports say she was found on a stretch of East Presidio Street where a large number of the homeless are known to sleep outside, but there is no confirmation Kwadzo was homeless.

Three days later, on the morning of the 16th when the low temperature in Fort Worth was recorded to be just 9 degrees, an 81-year-old woman named Odessa Johnson died from hypothermia. Officials say she died at her home on Bratcher Street in southeast Fort Worth.

And then on the 21st, with a low of 31 degrees, a woman named Vernestine Kidd died at Medical City of Arlington. The cause of death was given as hypothermia. Kidd was 78 years old and lived at Mountain Creek Senior Living in Grand Prairie.

Citing privacy laws, Grand Prairie police are saying nothing about the circumstances leading up to Kidd's death. Her family is demanding answers to their questions but Mountain Creek is not releasing any information.
