The storms that rolled through North Texas Thursday evening have left some heavy damage in some communities, mainly in Denton and Collin counties.
Some of the worst damage is in Denton County communities like Bartonville and Lantana where the wind and hail were frightening.
The National Weather Service also says there was a "very brief" tornado near the Frisco campus of UNT. The tornado was confirmed by the NWS Friday afternoon as an EF-0 tornado after "evidence" was gathered.
The NWS says there were maximum winds of 85 mph, the tornado's total path was less than a quarter of a mile producing minor damage.
It's the only tornado reported in this outbreak of severe weather and it damaged trees, street signs and some cars.
