If you are heading out of town for the holidays and you plan on flying, what can you bring on a plane these days? And should you wrap your presents first?
Millions of passengers are expected to fly during the Christmas holiday across the US and the last thing anyone wants to do is to hold up the line at TSA because they packed something that alerted screeners.
That's why the TSA is offering some tips!
if you are traveling with food, a good rule of thumb is if it is solid, like cakes, pies, and other baked goods, it can be carried on. However, if it's a liquid, like gravy, it has to be packed in a checked bag.
If you're traveling with gifts, TSA agent Lisa Torres suggests not wrapping them, instead putting them in gift bags.
Ultimately the TSA says planning ahead is your best tool, saying you should arrive no later than an hour and a half before your flight takes off.
