Two Dallas police officers arrested on separate alcohol-related charges, placed on administrative leave

The Dallas Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division is currently investigating both incidents

Two Dallas police officers were arrested within 48 hours on separate alcohol-related charges and have both been placed on administrative leave pending investigations.

Officer Elijah Walker was arrested on June 10 by Euless police for driving while intoxicated. Walker joined the Dallas Police Department in March 2023 and is assigned to the Central Patrol Division.

The following day, Officer Jerrid Couch was arrested by Dallas police for public intoxication. Couch has been with the department since September 2023 and serves in the Northeast Patrol Division.

The Dallas Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division is currently investigating both incidents, but no further disciplinary actions have been announced. The department has reiterated its commitment to maintaining professional standards and transparency throughout the process.
