Two Fort Worth men arrested in connection to robbery ring, FBI searching for remaining suspects

The Lake Worth and Fort Worth Police Departments, in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), today announced a significant enforcement operation that disrupted and dismantled an interstate commerce robbery ring. The operation, a part of a joint task force, included the identification of four alleged robbery suspects, two of whom are in police custody. On October 15, 2023, at 3:37 a.m., two armed suspects entered a Walgreens Pharmacy at 6244 Lake Worth Boulevard, Lake Worth, and stole approximately $5,000 in cash from the store’s safe. A suspect placed a gun to a pharmacist’s head and forced her to remove controlled substances from the pharmacy’s secure storage area. He then took the pharmacist by the hair and forced her at gunpoint to the back office. At the same time, the second suspect armed with a taser grabbed the front desk clerk and forced her to the ground while using the taser to deliver electric shocks to her body. Then, the suspect drug the clerk to the back office where she was held on the ground with a gun placed against the back of her head and forced to open the safe. She is recovering from surgery as a result of her injuries. On October 30, 2023, at 5:32 p.m., a suspect in this case entered a Metro PCS located at 600 East Allen Street, Fort Worth, to scope out this location and then left the store. At 6:20 p.m., a second suspect in this case entered the Metro PCS with a weapon in his hands and ordered a victim employee to the back of the store. At this time, a third suspect then enters the store and assists in the robbery including numerous electronics and approximately $900 in cash. The suspect then blocked off the area where the victim was placed to prevent them from leaving or calling 911. A fourth suspect was waiting outside the store as a lookout. Once the robbery was completed, all suspects left the area. Henry Pierre Rogers, 35, of Fort Worth, is in Tarrant County Jail on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Felon in Possession of a Weapon. Jhamal Antwan Farris, 31, of Fort Worth, is in Tarrant County Jail on charges of Aggravated Robbery and was out on bond on a murder charge from 9/28/2018 from the Everman Police Department. Law enforcement officials are seeking information that leads to the arrest of suspect Demond Deshun Scott, 32, of Grand Prairie and the fourth unidentified suspect. "Violent crime doesn’t stay within jurisdictions," said Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes. "That’s why it’s important that we all work together. We are grateful for the partnership, hard work and dedication of the FBI and the Lake Worth Police Department for bringing violent assailants to justice." Because Walgreens and MetroPCS are businesses that operate in interstate and foreign commerce, the FBI was able to join the investigation under the Hobbs Act which gives the FBI jurisdiction to adopt and investigate these crimes. The Hobbs Act prohibits robbery that “in any way or degree obstructs delays or affects commerce or the movement of any article or commodity in commerce.” In most cases, the Hobbs Act is used when convenience stores or gas stations are robbed.

Thirty-five-year-old Henry Rogers and 31-year-old Jhamal Farris, both of Fort Worth, are both behind bars in connection with a robbery at a Walgreens store in Lake Worth last month.

Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian told KRLD they're also accused of robbing a Metro PCS store in Fort Worth two weeks later.

The Lake Worth and Fort Worth police departments were able to involve the FBI since both Walgreens and MetroPCS are businesses that operate in interstate and foreign commerce.

"Violent crime doesn't stay within jurisdictions," said Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes in a statement. "That's why it's important that we all work together. We are grateful for the partnership, hard work and dedication of the FBI and the Lake Worth Police Department for bringing violent assailants to justice."

"Violent crime has no place in Lake Worth. Alongside our partners, we will continue to relentlessly pursue those responsible for committing violent crimes in our communities," said Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian.

"I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the detectives and agents who worked this case, and I remain thankful for the partnership we have with the FBI and the Fort Worth Police Department."

Two other suspects remain on the loose -- 32-year-old Demond Scott of Grand Prairie and an unidentified suspect.
