A North Dallas driver who victimized by a road rage threat is very happy after being saved by a US Postal Service police officer Tuesday.

A widely circulating social media photograph shows the incident, two cars stopped on the shoulder of the President George Bush Turnpike near Preston Road.

The two drivers are out of their cars, one man with his hands up in the air and the other pointing a pistol at the first man's face.

DPS investigators say it was a case of road rage when the gunman's car struck the other man's car, leading them both to pull over.

Officials say this might have ended very badly, but at just that very moment an armed federal post office police officer saw the assault and detained both drivers until troopers arrived.

The gunman has been identified as Cristiano Pinheiro De Abreu. His car was impounded and he was booked into the Collin County jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
