TxDot has announced a major freeway construction closure scheduled for this weekend that will affect traffic in Ellis County.
In Red Oak southbound I-35E between Bear Creek Road and Red Oak Road will be closed overnight from 8 pm on Friday, May 8th through 10 am on Saturday, May 9th, during the same time northbound I-35E and the service road will be reduced to one lane and traffic will be shifting to new temporary configurations and will be directed through a signed detour.
On Saturday night the direction will switch as northbound I-35E between Red Oak Road and Bear Creek Road will be closed overnight from 8 pm through 10 am on Sunday, May 10th with southbound I-35E and the service road being reduced to one lane. Commuters will definitely want to avoid this area or plan ahead for delays.
