A woman who had been trapped for several days in a muddy ravine behind a Dallas high school was rescued after a passerby heard her cries for help, Dallas Fire-Rescue said.
The rescue happened June 28 after a young man investigating faint cries discovered the woman stuck in deep mud and sewage.
Dallas police and firefighters responded, navigating a quarter-mile of rugged terrain in 104-degree heat to reach and safely extricate her.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for severe dehydration, prolonged sun exposure and other injuries related to her days-long entrapment.
