The secret to maintain a healthy mind might just be holding conversations with other people.

Research from NYU shows that it's vital to have someone in your life to listen to you... and for you to be a good listener yourself.  They recommend that you keep in close contact with people, like family and friends.

They say simple conversations can increase your brain power, and might help you fight against Alzheimer's. The researchers say the most vital time for this to work would be when you're in your 40s or 50s.

They also say good chats can help ward off other brain conditions, like depression or dementia.
