Dallas County Commissioners are on record supporting two Texans being held prisoner in Russia.

At Tuesday's meeting the Commissioners Court passed a resolution calling on Russian officials to release former Baylor basketball great Brittney Griner and Fort Worth native Trevor Reed, a former Marine whose parents live in Granbury.

Like all such proclamations passed by the Commissioners, it's a non-binding and purely symbolic edict. The decree encourages Dallas County residents to pray for peace and for the detained Americans to be freed.
