The Harris County Sheriff's Office confirms three victims were taken to the hospital by helicopter and a fourth by ambulance.
The flames and smoke from the resulting fire could be seen for miles around the plant.
A tweet from Exxon-Mobil confirms only that "a fire occurred at our facility."
