Federal judges have temporarily blocked some of President Donald Trump’s executive orders, prompting one Texas Congressman to urge the president to ignore court orders.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Austin) suggested in a video posted to X that Trump should follow former President Andrew Jackson’s example and ignore federal court rulings. Jackson famously defied a Supreme Court decision during his presidency in the 1830s.

"I don't believe judges, courts have the authority or power to stick their nose into the constitutional authority of the president," he said.

The White House accused the judiciary of overreach this week, calling the situation a “constitutional crisis” driven by judicial activism.
