When it comes to NBA championships won by Texas-based franchises, the San Antonio Spurs are the clear leader with five. And, a new Wallethub.com survey ranks San Antonio as the best Texas city for basketball fans.
The report looked at more than 20 metrics, including average ticket price and fan engagement, and took into account both professional and college basketball. San Antonio ranked seventh, while Houston was ninth and Dallas came in at No. 18.
Thanks in large part to the success of the Baylor men's and women's basketball programs, Waco ranked in the nation's top five for best performing college teams. Arlington came in dead last in the U.S. when it comes to college basketball fan engagement.
