Authorities arrested dozens of pro-Palestinian protestors on Monday at the University of Texas in Austin. The arrests are the just latest at the campus, which saw nearly 60 people arrested last week.

Monday's protests started at about 12 p.m. with supporters setting up an encampment of tents on the South Mall. About an hour later, campus policed ordered protestors to disperse. When they did not, state troopers moved in to break up the demostration.

Those arrested were primiarly those linked arm-in-arm in the encampment.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted on Monday that "no encampments will be allowed."

The university said many of the protestors were believed not to be affiliated with UT.

"The University of Texas took swift action to preserve a safe, conducive learning environment for our 53,000 students as they prepare for final exams," the statement reads in part.

It said the university supports free speech and that 13 pro-Palestinian events had been held on the campus since October. Read the full statement here.
