After nearly a week on the lam, two east Texas jail escapees are now back behind bars.
Last Friday officials say Kevin Webb and Kevin Kahler escaped from a Leon County work program between Buffalo and Centerville.
After nearly a week of freedom, Kahler was tracked down at a hotel about 100 miles away in Brenham.
Webb got even farthermaking it all the way to Hot Springs, Arkansas where he was tracked down after the Sheriff's office there got a tip.
The day after they escaped, Webb was spotted driving a stolen pick-up near Palestine. He was pulled over by a DPS trooper but then suddenly threw it in reverse and slammed into the trooper's squad car.
The trooper got off several shots, striking the pick-up but Webb still managed to get away and abandoned the truck near the Anderson-Cherokee County line.
He escaped that time, but only until a source turned him in to police in Hot Springs.
