One of Texas's most iconic natural areas will be growing by hundreds of acres.
Texas Parks and Wildlife sharing that Enchanted Rock Natural Preserve in the Hill Country will expand by around 630 acres. This will put the whole preserve at over 1,200 acres total...across Gillespie and Llano counties.
The main attraction of Enchanted Rock is the rock itself, which has long held a special place for native tribes in that area. The price tag for the newly acquired land wasn't shared...but the seller was apparently quite willing to part with the acreage.
It's not clear just yet when the new land will become publicly accessible.
