The governor says Texas will soon pass France for the seventh-biggest economy in the world.
Greg Abbott was in Dallas Thursday evening and says the Texas stock exchange is "well funded" and running quickly.
"All they need next is clearance from the Securities Exchange Commission which is, I would say, virtually guaranteed and they hope to be conducting their first trades later on in 2025," Abbott says.
He says Texas has a "regulatory environment" to keep drawing companies and workers from places like New York and California, but he also says Texas is working to make sure it provides companies with a trained workforce.
