A massive blob of seaweed is heading toward Texas beaches.

A giant blob of seaweed called the 'Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt' is stretching an estimated 5000 miles, and it could be htting Texas beaches soon.

Not only is it ugly, but it emits a pungent smell like rotten eggs as it decays.

The bloom has grown every year according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) and its grown so big it is now seen in NASA satelite images.

While its a nuisance for beachgoers it provides shade, food and protection to fish, sea turtles and hundreds of species of marine life.
