There could be a case of monkeypox in a small child in Texas.

The Houston Chronicle reports, that the Harris County Health Department says it looks like monkeypox turned up in a baby under the age of 2 years.

The CDC has to confirm the diagnosis. If it's true, that would be the first monkeypox case in a child that young in Texas. The baby isn't identified, but the health department says that child didn't go to daycare or any kind of school, and no one in the family has tested positive.

There have been a total of six child cases around the country.
