Russian state news agency Tass says a Moscow court announced it has extended the arrest of WNBA star Brittney Griner until May 19th.

Griner appeared in a Moscow court Thursday where she reportedly pleaded not guilty to drug charges. The court extended her detention for another two months.
The 31-year-old Houston native was detained at a Moscow airport last month after Russian police said a search of her luggage revealed vape cartridges containing traces of cannabis oil.
Griner, a former superstar at Baylor University and now a center for the WNBA franchise in Phoenix, has been playing winter basketball in Moscow for seven years.
Many of Griner's fans fear she is being held as a hostage during the current international crisis over Russia's brutal atrocities against Ukraine.
If convicted on the drug charge she could be jailed for up to 10 years.
