The State Attorney General announced Wednesday morning that he is suing Bexar County over voter registration.
AG Ken Paxton is suing Bexar County near the San Antonio area over the county commissioner's decision to send voter registration applications to all residents. Paxton said those forms would go to residents whether or not they requested an application or are even eligible to vote.
AG Ken Paxton previously warned both Harris and Bexar counties about their plans to mail out voter registration forms to what he calls "unverified recipients." Paxton says there's a good chance that those registration forms go to felons and undocumented immigrants who are not allowed to vote in Texas.
He says the forms would encourage those unverified recipients to vote and that's a crime.
"[It's] more important than ever to maintain [the] integrity of voter rolls and ensure only eligible voters decide our elections," Paxton said.
Before, he warned both counties that he'd see them in court, now that only applies to Harris.
