A man has died in a holiday weekend diving accident at Lake Gladewater about mid-way between Dallas and Shreveport.
On Saturday, Gladewater police got a 9-1-1 call saying a man was badly hurt at the lake. Paramedics worked to save his life with no luck.
More than a half-dozen witnesses told police pretty much the same story. A man in his mid 30s dove off a 40-foot cliff into shallow water. Police estimate it was about four feet deep.
A police statement suggests that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this unfortunate incident.
