While hurricanes bring to mind sheltering in place, power outages, and flooding, residents in areas impacted by Hurricane Beryl are also making sure to be well-stocked to ride out the storm.
Many businesses along the Texas Gulf Coast placed a limit on certain items this week to ensure that as many people as possible had what they needed to be able to stay at home for a few days.
The primary items with restrictions were milk, bread, ice, and water. But there were two others that may not be top of mind: beer and brisket.
Meanwhile, the Texas Attorney General's office will keep an eye out for price gouging during and after the storm. It's an offense that can be criminally prosecuted in Texas.
