As high school students across the state prepare for Homecoming, you know arts and crafts stores are going absolutely wild right now trying to handle the amount of mum requests.
It's always an unwritten competition for the most extravagant mum, though one sixth-grader in San Marcos may have secured this year's unofficial victory.
Arianna Bosquez and her mom Samantha Villalpando paid tribute to their favorite Texas staple for Arianna's homecoming mum, none other than Buc-ee's!
When Arianna told her mother that she needed a mum for an upcoming homecoming game, she also said she wanted something that's never been done before. Villalpando knew exactly what direction she wanted to go.
Villalpando told MySA, "We're from San Marcos, and we've been here all our lives. With the Buc-ee's they made in New Braunfels, one day we went, and we got lost in there for two hours. Every time we go to New Braunfels, we make it a point to go there."
Arianna's school colors are purple and black, and Villalpando told her the red and yellow or Buc-ee's would make her stick out "like a sore thumb," but Arianna didn't care; she wanted the Buc-ee's mum.
The mum even caught the attention of Buc-ee's General Counsel Jeff Nadaldo, who said, "Buc-ee's fan show their love for the world's cleanest bathrooms, freshest food and friendliest beaver in all sorts of ways, and this Texas-sized tribute is certainly one for the books."
