We all know how serious in Texas we take our homecoming mums.  Everyone from out of state who has no idea what a mum is, sit down and get prepared to be wowed.

A group of students at Midland High School just unveiled their massive 10-foot mum!  They constructed the piece by combining two large mums and it is adorned with layers of purple and gold ribbon, the school’s colors, and emblazoned with the school’s mascot the Bulldog!

According to teacher Shawna Braden, it took the class two and a half weeks to make the mums.

She told NewsWest 9 in Odessa, “Here in Texas, bigger is better.  If we have bigger and better, the students can showcase their creativeness.”
