The ocean is full of creatures most have never seen before. Every once in a while one of these fish wash up on shore, shocking those that come across it. That’s exactly what happened to a woman in Texas recently, as she found a strange looking fish with sharp teeth that had washed up on the shore of Galveston Bay, and no one has been able to figure out what exactly it is.
Suzanne Choate Arceneaux was at Galveston Bay recently when she spotted something she had never seen before. She quickly turned to social media in hopes of finding out what kind of species she had found.
“Was walking the beach today and noticed a lot of dead things, seagulls, pelicans, stingray, a ton of jelly fish. I did find a strange fish. Can someone tell me what it is??” Arceneaux wrote in her now viral post.
According to Fort Worth Star Telegram, the post received a number of comments, though most were from people saying they hoped to never come across the fish while at the beach. Some were able to correctly guess the fish was some type of eel, as Mark Fisher, the Coastal Fisheries Science Director for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, recently claimed the fish was likely a snapper eel.
After seeing this, those with a fear of the ocean may never step foot on a beach again.
