Any time someone visits Texas, usually one of the first things they want to try is authentic Tex-Mex or Texas BBQ. However, a new study says one of those should no longer be on the list of Texas must haves. The study claimed BBQ is not one of Texas’ most popular cuisines, leaving it off the top five list entirely.
Price monitoring website, PriceListo, recently unveiled their list of the five most popular cuisines in Texas. Using Google search data, the study found the five types of food people are searching for the most in the Lone Star State. According to KXAN, the top five including Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Thai.
Mexican took the top spot overall with 859,817 average monthly searches. Many were stunned BBQ didn’t make the list, with countless options throughout the state. Maybe it’s time to pick a new cuisine as the go-to Texas food.
