With Hurricane Nicholas hitting the Texas coast overnight, rescue workers are ready.
The Texas A&M Task Force One positioned its boats, personnel and other resources along the coast from Brownsville to Beaumont.

In a statement issued before Nicholas came ashore, the Task Force says: "TX-TF1 along with State Response Partners from Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept (TPWD), the Texas Military Department (TMD), and TDEM will work to support local and regional jurisdictions to help do the most good for the most people, in the least amount of time."
As of 3 a.m. more nearly 250,000 power outages were reported along the Texas coast.
