The late Betty White, widely known for her love of animals, has been a donor to Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue since 2006.
Mark Meyers, executive director of the rescue, says she donated tens of thousands of dollars over the years.
On Christmas Day, a jennet donkey foal was born at the rescue. They were not having any luck coming up with a name until December 31st when word came out announcing White's death at the age of 99.
The new donkey will now be known as Betty White-Ludden (the actresses legal name) or just Betty, for short.
