Texas native and country singer-songwriter Charlie Robison died from a cardiac arrest Sunday in San Antonio. He was 59.

Robison's music career was launched in Austin in the 1980s, playing in bands like Two Hoots and a Holler before he formed his own group, Millionaire Playboys.

His debut solo was entitled "Bandera" which is the Hill Country town where his family had a ranch for generations.

Five year ago, Robison announced he had permanently lost his ability to sing due to a surgical procedure on his throat.
