A cargo truck trying to cross into the U.S. earlier this week caught the eye of some Texas customs agents. They followed their guts and pulled it aside for a second look.
In this case, a secondary inspection meant drug dogs. Agents combed through the cargo, and they found a shipment of water. This is where they found, nestled in among the water jugs, a single pallet with 16 plastic jugs of methamphetamine.
That is almost 750 pounds of meth. Laredo Port of Entry officials estimate the stash would have been worth nearly $7 million on the street. Last month, customs agents in Laredo intercepted 423 pounds of meth.
Authorities seized the truck and its contents, and Homeland Security is looking for those who shipped the drugs.
