With the national average for gas now over five dollars, the Texas price has hit a new record high of $4.66 based on figures from Triple-A Texas.
Tarrant, Collin and Denton counties match the state average but Dallas County is about three cents higher. One year ago, the Texas average was just $2.76.
The highest price in Texas is in the Panhandle where Roberts County drivers are paying $5.30. That's the only Texas county above five dollars.
