A Texas lawmaker is among 20 Democratic leaders slamming President Donald Trump for seemingly not making lower grocery prices an immediate priority.

The Houston Chronicle reports Texas Representative Greg Casar, who leads the state's Congressional Progressive Caucus, signed onto a letter penned by Senator Elizabeth Warren last weekend. It reminds Trump of his campaign promise to "immediately" lower food prices if he was elected, and accused him of prioritizing mass deportations and pardoning January 6 participants.

Costs of eggs in particular remain high amid the bird flu outbreak nationwide. In a rebuttal, the Trump Administration says it is working to lower the cost of living for families by taking immediate action to unleash American energy to drive down costs.
