Texas isn't really known as a "clean energy" state, but maybe it should be.
A new report in Fast Company finds Texas is tied for the highest number of jobs in the wind and solar fields in the country. Texas has as many people working for solar and wind energy companies as any other state, and there are a lot of job openings.
Texas has 7% of listings for clean energy jobs. California is right behind at 6.9%. Mostly, companies are looking for techs, and you only need a high school diploma to get most jobs.
Axios reports clean energy makes up a third of the power that's generated in the state.
