The Texas Department of Transportation is being accused of violating the state's ban on DEI.

TxDOT has a program that, when it comes to contracting, gives priority to "small, minority and veteran-owned businesses." That's creating some controversy.

State Representative Brian Harrison says that sounds like a violation of the state's ban on "diversity" and "inclusion" programs. "They're coming up with 30 million race-based contract determinations and I can't say that more forcefully."

He's furious that the agency in charge of building roads and bridges even has a "civil rights" division. It has about 50-full time employees with a budget around ten-million dollars.
