Whataburger opens first digital kitchen in Austin

Texas-based Whataburger recently opened its 12th Jacksonville-area restaurant at 10600 San Jose Blvd. near Interstate 295 in the Mandarin neighborhood of Jacksonville.

Whataburger fans in Austin have been waiting for months, but the time has come.

The first-ever Whataburger digital kitchen is now open for business!

Located at 3201 Bee Caves Road in Rollingwood, this Whataburger has customers place orders online or via the Whataburger app and pick up food in a “digital pickup lane” from temperature-controlled lockers.

There are also kiosks so customers can place orders onsite.

According to Eater Austin, the Whataburger is cashless and there is no dining room, and will still employs about 50 staff members.

The Whataburger Digital Kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
