Willy the elusive Willacy County rodeo goat has been found safe after giving searchers the slip for more than two weeks.
Willy belongs to the Willacy County Livestock Show and Fair which has with help from dozens of Rio Grande Valley businesses put up all kinds of incentives to encourage people to help find Willy who escaped from a youth rodeo in mid-July.
The rewards included everything from hay bales, to a barbecue joint's full slab of ribs, to free hairstyles, and a four-pack of season passes to the Livestock Show and Fair.
For these past couple of weeks, Willy has kept hidden in sugar cane and corn fields, avoiding all efforts to capture him. But this week, the goat's head got caught in a fence, allowing a family near Raymondville to get a rope on him and bring him home.
