Back in November 2022, the motto “everything’s bigger in Texas” was once again proven true, as a book titled ‘I Am Texas’ was awarded the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest book. The massive book about Texas was written by thousands of students in the Lone Star State, and soon the rest of the state will get to see it in person.

It was recently announced the book will go on tour throughout Texas, making a stop in DFW later this year.

Standing 7-foot-2 tall and more than 11 inches wide, the new Guinness World Record for the world’s largest book is a great representation of Texas. The book weighs nearly 500 pounds and contains 400 pages of stories, poems, and artwork about Texas.

According to Dallas Culture Map, the book took nearly two years to complete and features the work of students in the 3rd-12th grade from 72 school districts.

The book tour has already begun, with stops in Galveston and the Texas State Capitol building in Austin. Its stop in North Texas will be from November 20 through December 1, where it can be seen at the Dallas Historical Society. This book is definitely one every Texan will want to read.
