It's a very mild start for this time of the year, as temperatures have only fallen into the upper sixties across north Texas. We also have some low clouds that have moved into the area, but these will mix out by mid to late morning. Afternoon highs will reach the mid eighties.
Temperatures won't cool too much again overnight with lows near 70. Back in the mid eighties we go, with a breezy south wind tomorrow.
Our next weather change arrives around lunch time Friday, as a pretty strong cold front blows through the area. I can't rule out a few scattered showers along behind the front through mid afternoon. Temperatures will go from the seventies at noon, down into the fifties by Friday evening. Jackets will be necessary if you're heading out to any of the area high school football games or out to a social distanced dinner with your significant other!
The weekend doesn't look half bad. A nice cool Saturday will greet you with high temperatures in the middle sixties. However, the front rapidly moves back to the north by evening. Temperatures will warm into the middle eighties on Sunday. By late Sunday night, the bottom drops out.
Data is still all over the place on how cold this air will be and how fast it moves in. The upper 40s for highs on Monday and the mid forties for highs on Tuesday may be way too warm. I may be tweaking the temperatures down a bit more as we approach Sunday and Monday. Some data suggests we hover in the low to mid thirties on Tuesday and Wednesday, with precipitation in the area. Data also suggests we may see precipitation continue through Wednesday.
NOTE: I'll be watching the temps and also how long the precipitation sticks into early next week. Some data suggests that temperatures will hover near freezing during this time frame.Stay tuned! Also, please make sure you get your weather information from a reliable source.
