The big weather story is a return to seasonal or slightly above seasonal averages through the weekend and for all of next week, as an area of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere dominates our weather.
Typically in late August, the humidity levels are very low during the afternoon hours, but due to all the recent rain, it's gonna feel very oppressive outside for the foreseeable future. Afternoon highs will be in the middle 90s today and tomorrow, upper 90s Sunday through all of next week. Some backyard thermometers may hit 100゚. Then you have to factor in the humidity. Heat index values will reach 105゚+ starting Sunday through the following week. This will most likely prompt heat advisories for all of north Texas.
