Hot Texas weather continues through Father's Day weekend

It was another hot one yesterday as we topped out at 98゚ at DFW airport.

This morning, skies are clear and temperatures are mainly in the low to mid seventies. Nothing is showing up on radar, but I can't rule out a late day shower or storm, especially east of Central Expressway, as a weak disturbance sneaks is from Arkansas. Afternoon highs will be hot again with readings in the upper nineties. We also have an air quality alert again today and most likely tomorrow.

Father's Day weekend looks sunny and hot with highs in the mid to upper nineties. Anything tropical that does form in the Gulf of Mexico looks to move into Louisiana now. This being said, I'm expecting no impact here across north Texas.

A break from the heat arrives the 2nd half of Monday as a cold front comes into the area. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms along the front. Right now the data suggest the best chance will be from Dallas into east Texas. One thing is guaranteed, cooler temperatures will arrive, as readings fall into the eighties for highs on Tuesday and Wednesday. There could be some leftover showers and storms as well.

Temperatures will warm back up and the rainfall chances shut off by the end of next week and into the following weekend.
