What a beautiful weekend it was. Yesterday we topped out at 87゚, that's the warmest reading so far this year!
This morning, clouds are increasing and temps range anywhere between 55゚ and 65゚. The air is rather dry at this hour, but will moisten up through the day as a cold front approaches from the NW. Daytime highs will warm into the low to mid 80s.
Late this afternoon through the evening, there's a chance for scatt. strong to isolated severe storms across north Texas. The greatest chance for large hail and damaging wind will be along and south of I-20 and west of I-35W. The window for the largest hail will be between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Strong storms will continue to move in from the SW between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. into Tues morning.
Morning lows tomorrow will drop into the low to mid 50s with a north wind gusting to 25 mph.
A break into precipitation is expected most of tomorrow, but another disturbance will cause more showers and non severe thunderstorms to break out Tues. eve. through Wed. morning. The bulk of the heaviest rain will stay just to the NW of the DFW area, at least thats how it looks right right now.
Isolated showers and storms will continue in the forecast Wed. and Thurs., but less numerous. Highs will only be in the low 60s! Morning lows will be in the low to mid 50s.
Our next stronger disturbance arrives Fri. into Sat. This will increase our rain chances to more of a widespread rain event, especially on Fri.
As another cold front approaches Sat., rain chances will continue, but start to taper off late Sat. into Sun. Temperatures will remain cool with highs only in the low sixties this weekend.
I'm so excited that rain is back in the forecast! We desperately need it. Our deficit for the year is now over 3" and we haven't seen a drop of rain so far this month.
